South African musician, Candy Tsa Mandebele, is still very much alive, as confirmed in her Instagram post shared today, 29 July 2020. The confusion came about when fellow musician, Tumi Masemola, took to Instagram to share a tribute tweet about all the beloved industry greats who have passed away recently.  She stated, “My heart is broken. I am not one to regularly post those who have passed… May your souls rest in love.” Although the post appeared to be rather heartfelt, the group of women she honoured included Candy, who fortunately has not yet passed away.  Fans were left distraught as they believed that Candy had died, causing for her to clear up the confusion on Instagram. She stated, “IM STILL HERE GUYS KEYA PHELA.” Thereafter, the public saw the lighter side of the situation, and were ultimately glad that nothing had happened to the singer.
